How it works
Where your records go, and where they don't.
Most breeding software is a website with your data on someone else's server. If the company folds or you stop paying, so does your access. KennelKeeper is built the other way round: the master copy is on your device, and the cloud is an optional extra.
Where does a record go?
A record is written to your device first. Optional sync on the Breeder and Signature plans copies it to your other devices, with an automatic backup. Separately, when you ask the scanner or the writing assistant, the one document or text you asked about goes to the AI provider. KennelKeeper never sells your records or uses them to train anything.

Does it work without an internet connection?
Records are written to your device first and read from it. A dead spot at the show ring changes nothing.
The master copy lives in your browser's database for the Web Edition, or inside the Windows app.
How do sync and backup work?
On the Breeder and Signature plans a copy also syncs to the cloud so your other devices can see it, and that copy doubles as your backup.
Sync runs on Google's Firebase and is encrypted in transit and at rest on Google's servers. It is not end-to-end encrypted, so we do not describe it that way.
Can I take everything with me?
The whole database to CSV or JSON, on every plan including the free one. Open it in Excel, or move to something else.
Is my data used to train AI?
No. KennelKeeper never uses your records to train anything and never sells data. The AI features send only the document or text you asked about, only when you ask, to the provider you have chosen. If you would rather not use them at all, you never have to.
What happens if I cancel?
Stop paying and the paid features switch off. Your records stay on your device, readable and exportable. Nothing is held hostage.
