Import a spreadsheet and the columns are matched for you, or photograph a registration certificate or a vaccination record and let the scanner read it. Nothing is saved until you have checked it.
What it does
Spreadsheets on every plan
CSV and Excel files, every sheet of a workbook, with the columns matched automatically and ready layouts for AKC, Breeder's Edge, UKC, FCI and CKC exports.
Cats and horses too
Cat and horse columns are recognised as well: TICA and CFA numbers, cattery prefixes, FeLV and FIV results, height in hands, AQHA numbers and the farrier.
Pedigrees from K9-Data.org
A K9-Data.org pedigree comes in with its ancestors, no scanning needed.
The scanner
Photograph or upload registration papers, pedigrees, health certificates, vaccination records and Coggins tests, for dogs, cats and horses, and it fills in the fields. A PDF is read page by page.
Checked before it is saved
Everything read from a file or a photo waits on a review screen, where you can correct any field. An animal you already have is matched on its microchip, then its registration number, then its name, and a difference is shown side by side: your record stays unless you choose otherwise, and a blank never overwrites anything.
Where a photo goes
A photographed page is made smaller on your device, sent through KennelKeeper's server to the AI provider to be read, and kept in your account's private storage, linked to the record it made.
Which plans
Spreadsheet, Excel and JSON imports are on every plan. The scanner is on Breeder and Signature, or on any plan with your own AI key, and needs you signed in with a verified email.

Which AI reads my documents?
Google Gemini on the Breeder plan, or Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude or OpenAI with your own key. KennelKeeper never uses your records to train anything.
My program's export is unusual. Can it still come in?
If you are coming from another program with an unusual export, use the contact form and we will look at the file together.
Is there a limit on how much I can import?
No plan counts your animals or your litters.
